OUR AIM
For our first main collection, our aim was to create elegant, Asian female drawings that represented the unique characteristics and traits of women across Asia. One of our core visions is to be able to combine cultures from Asia and create something authentic. Every individual NFT in our collection speaks for itself in terms of quality and each one has a unique cultural background and story to tell.
The 8SIAN brand aims to represent Asia in the Web3 space whilst also empowering Asians to be proud of their heritage, culture and upbringing. We strive to share our experience of NFTs and educate individuals by giving them the knowledge they need to operate in this new and exciting space. We also aim to bridge the gap between the physical and virtual worlds by expanding our community and through collaborations with key partners in various industries.
OUR FOUNDERS
“My grandpa came from China in the 1940s and settled down in Malaysia. Growing up, I was taught about my culture but was never proud of my identity and never had the interest to learn the Chinese language. I idolised the Western way of life and unknowingly had forgotten about my own heritage. After becoming a mom, it struck me:

Nicole started exploring the fascinating world of NFTs but was disheartened by what she largely saw as a male-dominated space. She longed for something that resonated with her identity as a strong, Asian woman. A moment of inspiration came to her – she felt that the NFT space could be repurposed to celebrate and showcase Asian art and culture.
MRHIKE
MrHikeArtMrHike has always been passionate about creating art. Digital painting and 3D modelling are the two art styles he has been especially attracted to throughout his life. After graduating from art school, MrHike pursued a career in the video game industry as this aligned directly with his goals and interests. He learnt about the NFT space after meeting fellow co-founder, Nicole, and deciding to create 8SIAN together. Prior to 8SIAN, MrHike hadn't even heard of Cryptopunk! After a few weeks of working together with Nicole and the rest of the 8SIAN team, MrHike grew enamored with NFTs and the NFT space and worked towards creating the beautiful Main Collection that is available for everyone to see today. This new-found passion led him to ultimately leave behind the video game industry in pursuit of the new and exciting world of NFTs alongside 8SIAN.

The whole 8SIAN NFT collection was hand drawn by our talented graphic artist MrHike and his team of artists with his expertise and excellent sense of aesthetics. He has been working in the graphic arts industry as a 3D-modelling artist for more than 7 years. He has created digital assets for such renowned titles as Spider-Man on PlayStation 5.

What is 8SIAN?
Inspired by the rich Asian culture over thousands of years, 8SIAN aim to create a signature NFT collection in the growing NFT space that represents and connects the Asian community.
Why is our project named 8SIAN?
In Chinese 八 Bā = 8 symbolises wealth, success and prosperity. This lucky number has held a significant place historically in many cultures as it represents a powerful desire to succeed and an irrepressible force driven to achieve greater accomplishments.
Who are the artists?
Our lead artist, MrHike, and our three support artists, YinNing, Sling, and Mintminded.
Why is there no standard Roadmap?
8SIAN is about creating an innovative, new NFT movement - one that is fluid, ready to evolve and has no set boundaries. Having a programmed roadmap can actually limit the endless possibilities that we believe the NFT space and a NFT collection can achieve.
What is an NFT?
A non-fungible token (NFT) is a financial security consisting of digital data stored in a blockchain, a form of distributed ledger. The ownership of an NFT is recorded in the blockchain, and can be transferred by the owner, allowing NFTs to be sold and traded.
What is Metamask?
MetaMask is a software cryptocurrency wallet used to interact with the Ethereum blockchain. It allows users to access their Ethereum wallet through a browser extension or mobile app, which can then be used to interact with decentralized applications.
Why do I need to pay for the gas fee?
A gas fee is the charge that users pay to transact on the Ethereum blockchain. Gas is used to compensate miners for the computing energy and resources expended to validate transactions and to include them in the blockchain. In other words, gas fees are a reflection of the amount of computational power required to record a transaction on the Ethereum blockchain network.
